Conny Stuart - Boys' choir

Songtekst: Conny Stuart - "Boys' choir"
(Annie M.G. Schmidt, Harry Bannink, 1969)
I have a boys' choir, in my attic

The Protestant boys 'choir from' s-Gravenpolder

That is more or less, tada, gone by itself

I know the conductor, tiedie, and from there

They sing joedeloedeloe  when I remove the dust

They sing jadeladela as I chant the windows

The Sound of Music is nothing compared to it

And I never get tired of all those guys

I am not lonely anymore, before I go to sleep

I am in my garden, I hug boys

And I forget about world suffering and my hernia

Halléluja halléluja halléluja

They get mashed with majonneze every day

That seems to be excellent for the voices

The conductor is always working with them

It is a good atmosphere between him and the boy's choir

But one night I thought: what am I now hearing

There is a strange joodle in the hallelu

I ran upstairs because I understood that

There is a boy in my house, joeda, a boy pinched

There was a light shimmering on me, joeda joeda

But no, a little boy had his knee bruised with marbles

They were playing together with the conductor, yes

Halloejeja, halloejeja, halloejeja

But when I arrive in the hall in the evening

And I hang my winter coat on the coat rack

And I hear the jubilation from fifty-three throats

Then that boy's choir, tiedie, is getting pretty bored

Then I have enough, Tada, of the whole deer

D'r has already tampered with a boy with the knekkebreut

My whole house that smells like boys and puree

Oh that boys choir, joedoe, just went on tour

To Honolulu or to Vienna or to Genoa

The nerve, the nerve, the nerve

I have a boys' choir, in my attic

The Protestant boys 'choir from' s-Gravenpolder

That is more or less, tada, gone by itself

I knew the conductor, wala, and from there

So sweet is when I started to ripen a plan

From now on, tiedie, I am going to pinch the boys myself

And if there was one in the neighborhood, I thought: come

But oh, dada, the boys are pinching me also

Knocked out and gagged and snapped

Did I finally grab my little suitcase?

I went to a pension in Lunteren

But that pension that has Veronica on

And the god's day sounds on the Veluwa

Halleluwa halléluwa halléluwa
